Now the annual Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, the first event of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge season, has gotten off to an auspicious start. The ACYC, one of the largest and most renowned classic yacht races in the world, attracts a collection of some of the world’s most beautiful sailing vessels, including the Spirit of Tradition yachts, J Class yachts and tall ships. Over 52 vintage and classic boats competed in this year’s regatta from April 15th – 20th.Winning a Panerai barometer in Classic Class was Aschanti IV and in Vintage Class was Sumurun (above), while the Traditional Class was won by Genesis and the Spirit of Tradition class was won by Rebecca. First place for Classic GRP Class (fiberglass boats of traditional design) was won by Sunshine.
